TAMI has a number of reactors in its pilot and mini-pilot plants which could be used for distillation. Glass-lined, stainless steel and Hastelloy reactors, with volumes from 10 L to 2000 L, are available. Some of the reactors are equipped with packed distillation columns of 1-2 m height. Laboratory distillation columns of 10-20 stages are used for the study of distillations prior to scale-up in the pilot plant. Aspen software is widely used for the simulation and optimization of distillation processes.
