IMI is situated in the Haifa Bay area in the north of Israel.
This area is readily accessible by road and by rail.
The nearest Israel Railways station that is served by almost all trains from Tel Aviv is Kiryat Motzkin. From the station you will have to order a taxi to the IMI site. In some cases, it may be possible to pre-arrange a vehicle to collect you from the station. Kiryat Haim and Hutzot Hamifratz stations are slightly closer but are served primarily by local trains. The new road 22 gives a fast connection to Lev Hamifratz which is also a viable alternative.
From Central Haifa leave in the direction of Akko along road 4. You will reach a flyover turning left signposted Akko. Follow this and continue straight on. After you pass the Oil Refineries on your right, cross the railway line and immediately after the bridge, take Road 22 to your right for one junction, comming off at Qiryat Ata(South) junction. Turn right at the traffic light and proceed until you arrive at a traffic light by an electricity substation. Continue straight on (the main road turns left). After about 2 km of somewhat uneven road you will cross a railway siding. IMI is on the right.
From Tel Aviv travel north on the coastal road (road 2). You may continue through Haifa, in which case follow the instructions above. The alternative route is to turn off road 2 at the Zichron Yaakov interchange onto road 70. Follow road 70 and at Yagur Junction follow it through a right turn. After about 3km turn left at Zebulun Junction in the direction of Kiryat Ata (road 780). Continue until the traffic lights at the centre of Kiryat Ata where you should turn left in the direction of Haifa along Zebulun Road. After about 2.5km the main road turns right at a traffic light (the 3rd set of lights). On your left is an electricity substation. Turn left and follow the somewhat uneven road for about 2 km. You will cross a railway siding. IMI is on the right.
Follow road 6 until its termination at Ein Tut Junction (Elyakim) where you turn right in the direction of Yokneam along
road 70. Continue on road 70 as described above.
Follow road 4 in the direction of the Krayot and Haifa. You will arrive at a flyover. DO NOT go onto the flyover. Turn left under the flyover in the direction of Kiryat Ata. Continue as per approach from Haifa.
Alternatively you may turn left at Afek junction onto road 79 and take the Krayot bypass (road 22) until the turnoff for Qiryat Ata (South). Turn left at the traffic lights and under the bridge. Continue until you arrive at a traffic light by an electricity substation. Continue straight on (the main road turns left). After about 2 km of somewhat uneven road you will cross a railway siding. IMI is on the right.
Follow road 85 in the direction of Akko and at East Akko Junction turn left onto road 4. Follow instructions as per approach from Akko.
Haifa airport is for local flights only. You will need to take a taxi from the airport to IMI.
Ben-Gurion airport is well served by trains which give a service of two trains an hour during most of the day and one train an hour at night to the North.
